Welcome to Finding Holism!
I have spent the majority of my life learning about the body by way of a massage therapy program, nutrition courses, nursing school, as well as personal exploration of alternative and complimentary therapies. I try to approach every aspect of my life in a healthy way.
I am the founder of Finding Holism, a Wellness Advocate in dōTERRA, and mom of 2 girls and 1 boy. I’m passionate about creating a community which promotes lifestyles that encourage optimal health + well-being. In the very near future I will be mentoring on the topics of holistic health, business + leadership.
I believe the best way to achieve optimal health is to strive for a holistic state of being–by embracing the interconnected nature of your mind + body + spirit. This holistic and balanced state is accessed through self-empowerment, which involves having the key tools + information to really thrive in a healthy life. One of the main ways I currently connect people to this lifestyle is through essential oils. Check back soon for a guide for doing just that. I am also very excited to become a Holistic Health Coach soon.
The passion that fuels the fire
We’ve all heard the saying that “knowledge is power”. That is why I feel it’s so important that we are our own HEALTH ADVOCATES. No one will advocate for your health and well-being as much or as passionately as you will! You have to educate yourself & ask the right questions because let’s face it, there is always room for improvement–and a chance to live your life to the fullest!
By my eighteenth birthday I graduated from massage therapy school, where my eyes were opened to the benefits of alternative therapies like: herbal remedies, tissue manipulation, and energy therapies (Shiatsu, Applied Kinesiology, Acupressure, etc.). Around this time I began to realize the importance of caring for your body through nutrition and exercise, and the relationship between mind + body + spirit.
Years later I decided to pursue nursing, at which point my first child was born during the second semester of school. This only increased my desire to live a simpler and healthier life–free of toxins and unnecessary medical treatments (somewhat counter-intuitive to my formal training as a registered nurse). My motivation to better myself comes from a great desire to set an example for our three children. Living a full, happy and healthy life also helps my husband and me keep up with them + ensure we will be around for as long as possible.
